Making a card box

I have a silly question. What exactly do you wrap the boxes in? Contact paper, fabric, wrapping paper?

I think it depends on what you want it to look like. My guess is fabric holds up better than paper. I'll probably try to make my with fabric.

I found all ready decorated hat boxes...but I was going to do fabric if I was making them with regular boxes.
