Making a Snapfish album need help!!!!

Just curious is any one has ever made an album using snapfish.

I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake.

I'm trying to make a hardcover memory book with my e-pics. It says low resolution not recommended.

Does that mean that my pictures are low res or just that they aren't recommended? I want to make sure the album will come out right.

What's your experience using it????

If you have Photoshop or some other program that deals with photos, you can see what the resolution is. I recommend using images that are 300 dpi (resolution) thats for printing. Your epics might be 72, which is for screen resolution. You can resize them in Photoshop to the size you need for the book but I dont recommend sizing up from 72 to 300 because it will cause interpolation. If your photographer gave you the images on a dvd and said you can print them, then they should be fine. If you got them off his site or by email they are probably too small.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope that helps!

Unfortunately it doesn't answer my question. I was half asleep last night when writing so I'm not sure if I even conveyed myself correctly.

I have Photoshop but it doesn't really say the numbers in terms of DPI. It does say pixels, is that the same thing????

My question was really pertaining to Snapfish itself. i just wanted to find out if it always says low resolution not recommended. If thats normal, then I can continue with my album. I wanted to see what others experience with making albums was.

I think my pictures should be fine, i'm just not used to snapfish. When I put it as if I were ordering pictures, it was fine.

I would not create an album with low-res photos. They will appear grainy and unprofessional.

See if the photog will send you the original high-res files, if you don't already have them.

I don't know if they are low resolution or not thats the problem.

It sounds like it means that they don't recommend low res photos. Unless it is coming up in red when you are inserting the photos I think you are fine.

Thats what I was thinking but figured i'd ask just in case anyone else had experience with Snapfish albums.

I don't know if they're coming up in red since I was doing it at home and i'm at work right now. I'll have to look later.

I made an album using pics with low resolution because I thought they would come out fine but when I got the album the pics were such bad quality.

I'm almost certain my pix were 300 dpi when I scanned them in so I'm thinking they should be ok. I just wanted to know if snapfish usually says that no matter what the pixelation is.

no, it only says it if the pics are low-res.

300 dpi or higher does not get that warning.

Is there any way to check the picture file and find out?

My mother did the same thing I did the other day and printed a 4x6 of one of the pictures and it came out fine.

I really don't want to have to start all over again.

It doesn't always say low resolution. I just made an album the other day and none of the pics said low resolution and the album came out clear. If it says low resolution I wouldn't use the pics. I don't think there is any way to check.

If a 4x6 came out fine, why wouldn't something in the album???

Why don't you go on another site like Kodak gallery and see if you get the same message with the same pic. Maybe its the layout that's causing the problem. Some of the layouts are large and require a higher resolution than you would need for a 4x6. The one's that take up an entire page are pretty big. Try changing the layout of the page where you placed the pics that are giving you trouble.

I'll have to give that a try when I get home tonight. I kinda wanted to use snapfish since it looks like it's a little cheaper and i've used that in the past. Plus I have the coupon so every little bit helps.
