I didn't really want to spend a ton on favors because, well, the money feels like it has run out and we still have so much left to do :(
Anyways..i was thinking about making chocolate covered pretzels (dipping the pretzel rods in milk chocolate and covering with diff things like sprinkles, choc. chips etc). Baking/cooking in the one thing think I can do fairly well and i love doing craft stuff. Do you guys like this idea? Has anyone done anything similar?? I'm just trying to be creative as best as I can!

I think it's a really cute idea... You can wrap them up in cellophane and put ribbon to match whatever your colors are. Another idea that I was almost going to go with, but I changed my mind for timing reasons...is making wedding cake cookies... You can make them in the shape of cakes and decorate them like wedding cakes, if you like baking/craft stuff.
ETA: ONE MORE MONTH FOR US!

thats a really cute idea as well!! I think just for timing sake i'll try out the pretzels...but if i had more time, the cookies would have been awesome.
My mom made homemade wine charms for my shower...everyone loved them, she must have spent days on them but it was such a nice favor.
And yes..ONE MONTH!!! I woke up and realized it was the big countdown. I can't wait!

I think it is a great idea if:
1. You really have the time. You'll want to make them as close to the wedding as you can so they don't get stale.
2. If someone else can help -- you mom or moh. What seems like fun for the first hour, can seem like torture over the next 5 hours.

Couldn't you do a donation favor instead? Our guests were really happy they all got to be involved in helping a charity rather than receiving a gift. Our charity, Big Sisters/Big Brothers of Brookly and Queens was thrilled too- they thanked us a million times since they REALLY needed the money.
Donation scrolls take no time and it is a tax deduction!
Sorry- totally off topic but wanted to add my two cents.

Are you sure you will want to be doing all of that work so close to the wedding. By the time you buy all the supplies and everything...you probably could have gotten a nice favor...not to mention the aggrivation if something goes wrong, or just from being really busy.

Re: Making my own favors?
i'd be glad to help you make them in the days leading up to your wedding. not a problem. when are you coming home? thursday? how many would we have to make? probably like 400 right? we could make them at your house and mine and get it done in half the time.
like i told you the other day, don't stress about favors. you don't have to have them, and no one will care if you don't. and if they do care, do this to them haha...even the pretzels and chocolate will cost money when all is said and done.
whatever you want, just let me know!!! that's what MOHs are for!

Another idea- in addition to the donation, I had lots of lavender left over from my lavender toss after the ceremony. I put them into sachet bags and attached a little note thanking everyone for coming. They cost a total of 25 to make.
