Making the rounds at the wedding....

Original post by JamDancer

If I havea receiving line at the church, do I have to go around to all the tables at the reception too?? I know it's important to acknowledge guests but I don't want to miss half my reception with people talking my ear off.

We did a receiving line at the church and then we went to our CH and said hello and thank you to almost everyone. We didnt go around to the tables. During the recetion people came up to us at our table or on the dance floor....

the problem with the receiving line at church and then reception is that not everybody goes to the church so there will be ppl at the reception who wont be at the church. But you can go to your CH and get your hello's out of the way like that. Also tell your FH not to stay at a table more than 5 mins. Also when i got to the rh day of wedding, maitre'd told me that if i needed him to pull me away from a table to come up with a signal so he would know, he said alot of ppl talk too much and the couple need to be saved sometimes lol. So i told him i would scratch my ear if i needed to be pulled away.

I LOVE this idea. I'm still not sure if we'll do the rounds and/or the receiving line but the code for help to keep things moving is genius.

I'm hopefully going to try to make the cocktail hour and talk to most people then... if not then just do a few mins at each table.

This is what I plan on doing also!
