I have alot of free time today and I see how people get addicted to this message board! I am wondering if people make their own center peices with loose flowers. When do you make them? the night before? Where do you store them? I know florists have those fancy cold rooms. Do you just chance having limp brown flowers on your wedding day?

Re: Making your own center peices...
I'm not chancing doing my own flowers for my wedding day, but I am doing my own flowers for my e-party. I am getting them delivered 2 days before (it depends on the type of flower though), then cutting off the ends and putting them in water. This will keep them fresh until I arrange them the day before. You arrange them in floral foam after soaking the foam in water. Hope this helps!

Re: Making your own center peices...
i was originally going to make my own cp's but not using flowers, then i decided that i really don't want to deal with the stress so i hired a florist. i would suggest you really think about if u really want to put yourself through that (especially if u want elaborate cp's).

Like Vanessa, I was going to do my own but started to freak out over all the work an afraid it wouldn't be set up right etc etc. My RH actually includes with centerpieces so I really lucked out.

I thought about doing it too, but like the other girls, I'm going with a professional instead. I dont want to take any chances on the flowers not opening and stuff like that. And, I really dont want to be putting together CPs the night before my wedding either

Re: Making your own center peices...
I am another one who thought about doing centerpieces. FH and I discussed it and we were going to do non-floral ones, but you know... I know me, and I would have left it til the last minute and completely freaked over it.
Long story short, we hired a florist too.

Re: Making your own center peices...
with all the other stuff going on that last week, I'm not even going to chance it because my luck something wouldn't end up working out right and I'd be so frustrated. We'll just hire someone who can actually make the centerpieces look beautiful stressfree for them and for us lol.

Re: Making your own center peices...
i highly suggest you dont do this... unless your doing non-floral pieces. They week before your wedding things are crazy and you dont want to risk having brown wilted flowers. if its about the money.... search around for wholesale places (such as burtons) they gave me such a wonderful price and i was able to have flowers when i didnt htink we would be able to afford them... even hire a friend or someone else to do them.. you dont want the added stress!!
