I have been wrestling with the thought of making my own floral centerpieces. I don't want to spend a small fortune on flowers, and I think our hall is so beautiful that elaborate flowers would be overkill. I originally wanted a few branches of bloomed dogwood in a simple vase, but duh on my part, they are not in bloom in July. So I want something simple, but elegant. Has anyone made their own, or is anyone making theirs? I have a friend who can get me a good deal if I buy one flower in bulk, but I will be having the bo-k's made. So this is JUST the centerpieces. Thanks!

Re: Making your own centerpieces....
I wish I could have made my own, but I have no time, I will be in school right up until two months before our wedding and I don't have the time to do it. Good Luck though!!!

Re: Making your own centerpieces....
I am making my own centerpieces, but am using a combination of small sandcastle sculptures (I found on EBay) and votive candles with small julep cups of flowers....
what about finding some silk dogwood branches??

Re: Making your own centerpieces....
I thought about the silk dogwood branches, but I thought that silk flowers might look tacky. When my FMIL suggested that to me, I said, what would you say if you came back from a wedding and there were silk flower centerpieces? And she said TACKY. JMO. I don't know what we're going to do!

Re: Making your own centerpieces....
I must say at my friends wedding they only had silk flowers as their centerpieces. They had them done at Fantasyland in Patchogue. They were stunning. They are now in a new vase and the centerpiece on my dining room table.
