OMG! I was dissapointed when I rented this movie. It was beyond cheesy, and Pierce Bronson signing was absolutely horrendous! The only one who could hold a tune was the daughter.

I really loved it on Broadway but so much was lost in translation to the movie. Big disappointment. The only good thing about the movie was that it sorta reminded me of the show which brought back some fond memories. But it totally paled in comparison. I felt that way about Rent too. Never saw the new Hairspray movie, but I have a feeling I'd feel the same way too.

Someone needs to shoot Pierce and put him out of his misery, he sounds like a dead bird. Honestly... I didn't think the singing could get any worse until he sang.

Me and my mom LOVED it on Broadway too. Pierce Brosnan's singing ruined the movie!

I will probably be shot for saying this...but I liked the Rent movie better than the stage version :-X But, that might also be because I saw the movie first.

ummmm i actually kind of agree on this one...i don't know if I went on a 'bad' Rent day but when I saw the show I had no idea what was going on b/c everyone was yelling and screaming and I could not even follow the story line b/c of the yelling (singing) and the really loud music....
I mean I love the story and really loved the movie but like I said I definitely saw it on an off day for them so it ****** that I had to sit through that...

Yeah, I had a really hard time concentrating on it. I also didn't like that they would do scenes simultaneously. So distracting. I was sad because I really wanted to love it!

Uhhhh tell me about it! I got the movie over the weekend from Netflix and I literally put it on for 5 minutes before I stopped watching it.
