Manhattan Penthouse & other NYC venues near 51st & Park Ave

I went to look at Manhattan Penthouse. This was when I first got engaged and thought that we could afford to have our wedding in the city in a loft type space....that would have been my dream. That or the Angel Orensanz Foundation...I LOVE that place, have you seen it??? Anyway...so I saw pretty much all of them, and then realized that it was WAAAAYYYY out of our budget. I had no idea it would be so much. So, off to the burbs we went. Kidding.

Anyway, MP is the one near Union Sq. if I remember correctly. Really liked it actually, but I didn't like the fact that the downstairs entrance off the street had no real lobby. And at the time I was considering anywhere from Jan-March so I figured if lots of people show up at the same time and are waiting for the elevator upstairs they would be pushed onto 5th Avenue and I didn't like that idea. But, the cool thing was, our ceremony would have been there and they do it in front of a window that you can see the Empire State Building in the center. At night, all lit up, would have been such a perfect city shot.

I know the 3 West Club is near 51st & Park. And the University Club, St. Barts. Is that where you're having the ceremony, or at St. Patrick's? You can FM me if you want any more ideas. Have you checked out the building that holds Loft 11 and the Westside Loft? It's not near 51st and Park, but it holds two really cool loft spaces for events on different floors. I went to a wedding at Loft 11 and personally liked Westside Loft when I went for a site tour. A little more downtown though, I think it was around 36th on the west side, near 9th maybe, i can't remember exaclty but you can google it...

There is also the Yale Club which is on Vanderbilt in the 40's
