Manhattan vs. Long Island - Shopping for Bridesmaids dresses

So my question is, Would you recommend going any shops in the city b/c of selection & styles & colors available ? Then go somewhere that sells that dress (once you have the dress style # and color you really could buy it at any store that sells it).

I just want to go for selection mostly.
My MOH will come to the city with me but I just need to know where to go.

If you had to pick out the differences between
RK Bridal, Here comes the Bridesmaid and Kleinfelds Bridesmaid store -- what would they be?

If you are looking for selection, I recommend RK. They have just about everything! Kleinfeld's new store only carries 3 lines of BM dresses - Alvina Valenta, Lazaro and I think Jim Hjelm. They are opening up 2/1.

On LI, Bridal Reflections has a really big selection too.

Skip all the others and go to RK. They are WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH.... Have your BM go with you and pick out the dress you want, then you measure your girls, they pick the size ( they call this the NOFRILLS) and get the dress for a lot cheaper. Then the girls can bring thier dresses to a seamstress by their house!! It is perfect...

They have everything you could ever want... Cheap & expensive... It is worth the treck into the city. I loved them there so much that I bought my dress, my 6 girls dresses and My Mom's!!! Can't go wrong with that!!!

I have 5 girls that live in the city, 1 in NJ and 1 in LI. They are ordering the dresses at RK - bc that was the cheapest price around - and then they are all going to find seamstresses that are convenient for them.

I live in manhattan, am getting married in LI and my BM are literally all over the country. I was going to order my dresses in the city but then found them cheaper at Adrienne's in Islip. My Vera Wang dresses were $50 cheaper there than any place in the city (and the bridal store everyone raves about in NJ). I was really impressed with their prices.

I have that same issue with one of my BMs. She cant stand the city but I used the fact that RK's prices were way better than anywhere on LI that we looked at. It worked.

It's just a store for BM dresses, not wedding dresses. And as I mentioned above, they only carry 3 lines.

Oh Ok. I knew they had two stores in Bklyn as I've been to both. But the thought of sitting on the Belt Parkway in traffic with my mother and opinionated sisters is enough to keep my dress search local and on LI!!!
