March 04 Bride- Freaking out

Anyone? I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and have been on the Internet like a freak getting ideas on all the details. 8 months to go with nothing done... FREAKING OUT a little! Going on Tues to look at the Catering hall... I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Don't freak out! We're also getting married in March 04. All we've done so far is pick a hall and church. One nice thing we're finding is that most vendors are pretty free in March - my goal is just to get everything done over the summer (I teach).

You have time. DONT WORRY!!!! Just get your ceremony location and reception all figured out... look at dresses (mine took 6 months to come in) and then go for vendors. Things will work out. You have us for support

We are getting married in January & we only started planning 8 weeks ago & we are just now getting done.... all I have left is my favours.

Just keep calm & try to figure out what you like & don't like... that will make things go a lot more smoothly.

Also, remember that you have an advantage b/c you are booking during a slower time for weddings. It may be a lot easier for you to book vendors & get great deals.

Take a deep breath, and calm down. We are here for you. What I did to get the ball rolling is to make a list of halls that I have been to that I liked or was interested in looking at, then called them and asked a few questions over the phone.Then I scoped it out with my very good friend, then bought back FH to a few for us to make a decision. Then I looked at videographers, and photographers, then started to look at dresses, florists, and thought about what I wanted to get the bridal party, then just everything started to fall into place. It will happen, I found planning a wedding to be a lot of fun, it is what you make of it, do not freak out, you will do this, if you need to FM mail me feel free to so so, I will try to calm you down. It will go along fine and you will have a beautiful day! And by the way , congrats on your engagement!!!!

CONGRATS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT. DON'T FREAK OUT. I AM ALSO GETTING MARRIED IN MARCH OF 04 AND STILL HAVE TO FIND ALMOST ALL OF MY VENDORS. I ONLY HAVE 3 DONE SO FAR HALL, CHURCH, AND DJ THATS IT. YOU WILL GET IT DONE I PROMISE!!! I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS JUST GOT ENGAGED AND SHE IS GETTING MARRIED IN NOVEMBER 03 AND ONLY HAS HER HALL AND CHURCH THATS IT. SO YOU HAVE TIME JUST ENJOY YOUR PLANNING AND GET SOME HELP FROM YOUR BRIDAL PARTY AND MAKE IT A FUN EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF. IF YOU NEED TO VENT YOU HAVE ALL OF US!!

Please do not go by alot of us 04 Brides (especially me ) because we have alot (ok, in my case almost everything) done. You still have time to plan the wedding of your dreams.

Do not freak out!! It can be done within the time frame you have left. 8 months as of July. I am also a March bride.

First off do you know where you would like to get married? Church...
Have you searched reception halls yet?
Start working on your guest list. Based on the # of guests, some places may not accommodate them.
Take it day by day. We are all here to answer any questions you may have.
Do a search for the vendors you are looking for. Call them up and see if they are available for your date. Ask as many questions on the phone as you can and eliminate them that way. It will avoid you making unecessary appts.
Don't worry it will be fine. You will have the wedding you have dreamed of.

So I have a preliminary guest list, appointments with 2 reception sites, waiting to see the proofs of a highly recommended (and affordable) photographer, an appt to try on gowns, know the DJ I want just need the date, and um... yeah, that's about it for now.
Not bad for being engaged for 2 weeks. My FH could've killed me when I asked him about 10 minues after he proposed if he had any dates in mind
Also trying to plan an engagement party for July the FH really wants it- otherwise I could do without.

Don't worry, I freak out sometimes too and them remember that there will be a wedding no matter what and it will be beautifull. We already have the church(St. Killians), the hall(Coral House), and the dj. I ordered my dress and the bm dresses! I have the rings, the money bag, the shoes, and the slip. We know the photographer we are booking at the end of July(August is when most of the photographer's and video's prices go up), we already know what limo co. we want(Cruise Controll in Lindenhurst), we are booking in August. We know the florist(family friend) and I know my hair and makeup! Any question's, email me at [email protected].
