First of all.... CONGRATS !!!

I ordered my dress in March 04 (no pun intended LOL)

It took 5-6mths to deliver - it arrived in August 04.

Started fitings Nov 04 last fitting w/b 2weeks before wedding mid feb05

Its does not hurt to start looking - there are a gazillion dresses out theres - so it will give u enough time to see what you may like. Keep notes so you can pull your ideal dress togehter in the end.

I was March 2004, I got my dress July 4th weekend at a David's Sale..paid for it in full.

BM dresses...I picked a color and the girls got to pick their favorite style...they ordered them Oct/November

It's not too soon, but don't forget that styles change...so you might find a dress now, but 6 months from now, you might find something better!

I ordered my dress in April; it came in in November.

BEWARE: My dress shop told me that some dress factories overseas close during the entire month of December; mine did. They had my dress come in in November because it gave extra time to fix problems if there were any. If my dress hadn't come in until January and there was something wrong with it, I'd have been screwed! Not much time to fight with the manufacturer and get a replacement. Just keep this in mind.

P.S. A word to the wise, do your holiday shopping early this year, so you aren't struggling to get presents and invitations done at the same time.


ETA: We ordered my BM dresses in July; they came in in October.
