March Brides RSVP HELP!!!

I am ordering my RSVP cards and I'm not sure when to have the rsvp date be.
the wedding is March 28th...

also..when should i send the invites out? i have till Mid-January right? 6-8 weeks???

can i have my rsvp date be February 28th?

I would, as a deadline....send out invites my Jan 28, have RSVP by Feb 28, so you have a month to call any laggers who didnt mail back their cards and get a final count. 4 weeks is good! And you still have a month to get them out : )

I was totally freaking out, a lot of march brides sent theirs out already, and i thought i was really far behind. But i realize i'm also the end of march so that is part of it...

Oh, dont worry, I felt the same way when I heard other March bride already sending out theirs, but you know what?! Im getting married March 9, and I havent sent out mine yet either! I figure as long as I get them out Jan 9th, they will have plenty of time to RSVP....otherwise if you send too early, sometimes they forget or lose the invite, b/c so much time has elapsed, ya know. Plus the closer it is, the more likely they are to know what they are doing that weekend and if they can make it....so I think you're more then fine! You got plenty of time.

Now trying to get my printer to work to print out the addresses on the envelope....a WHOLE 'notha story, LOLOLOL

I was totally freaking out a few weeks ago also when we figured we couldn't do ours ourselves....Did you end up ordering them from Dawn? It literally took 3 days for mine to get here so I was really excited about that.

As i mentioned I'm sending them next week with a Feb 14th RSVP date. Obviously just barely a month before and will give us about 2 weeks to call people before we need to give a final count. to the RH

I ordered part of them from Dawn. I love their customer service! i got mine in 3 days.
we are mounting them in pocket folds... and doing postcard RSVPs from vistaprint to match...which is being a pain in my asss lol.

i feel better now, knowing i'm not the only one who didn't send them out yet.
i was under the impression that 6-8 weeks is the normal time to send them, but a lot of girls seemed to send them out much earlier than that. i freaked out.

i sent out invites 2 months before with an RSVP date of 1 month before good luck!

My only problem with them was the whole RSVP date thing. Part of me still thinks they should have verified it with me...but it worked out fine anyway. Other than that they were amazing.... Besides you, my sister was mentioned them, she got her's from them 5 years ago (but she did it over the phone unlike silly me).

Originally I was thinking to send them out on the 26th but with the holidays/new year I thought they might get lost in the mail easier. Plus, i don't think people will really look at them until things calm down.

ETA I think you're right on track....as for me, I still have BM's without dresses

I am getting married on 3/28 also and I am sending mine out around January 15th-ish. Our RSVP date is 2/28. The lady we ordered the invites from advised us to send them out on or around that date since we didn't mail save the date cards. Hope this was helpful! Good Luck!

While I definitely feel bad about your RSVP date, I do not hold them at fault at all. It's not their job to tell you what to put on your invites and such, they just input the data.
I'm not saying it b/c I ordered through them, I'm saying it b/c i used to work for a company that did similar ordering styles, and we were specifically told not to question our clients orders unless we KNEW there was a mistake, such as the wrong use of the word Too or they're or whatever...

it was a silly mistake, but you fixed it and it looks great.

did you pick out the BM dresses yet?
I do not have my gown in yet, nor do i have my BM dresses in... i'm getting a little nervous.

My wedding is March 29th - we're sending out the invites on January 3rd and our rsvp date is February 15th

that gives them 6 weeks to respond and gives me 6 weeks to follow up on non-responders and do the seating chart

we also didn't send out save the dates so i figured sending them out a little earlier was a good idea.

Don't be nervous, as long as you've ordered them and the store knows your date, you'll fine. Unfortunately sometimes this site can really make you nervous when it comes to these things but you really need to work at your own pace and not worry about what everyone else is doing.

In my case one of the BM never even looked at dresses. She constantly bitches about how she hates DB, the dresses are awful yadda yadda. But when push comes to shove, from what i've seen they take much less time. My sisters dress came in in 2 weeks.

I haven't read the rest of this thread because I just got to work and I am lazy... I am just going to tell you what I did because we are the same date.

My RSVP date is February 28th. I am mailing them out January 12th.

I am totally in denial about how soon January 12th is.

I planned on sending my invites next week but moved it up because they had taken up too much room and they were ready to go.

Warning you pocket folds took me two days to assemble and that was VERY stressful to do because I had a lot of elements to attach and it sometimes didn't work out too well so I had to throw out an invite and redo it. I have mucho patience with paper goods since I design and do comps for a living but this was really a pain since everything I wanted perfect.

I would go by when your final count is due I gave myself two weeks before final payment/head count is due (feb. 15th) which is two weeks before my wedding.

So I am giving them 8 weeks to RSVP which is way to long and I agree I sent them out a week too early but space really is starting to get limited thanks to all the stuff I now need to unpack and reorganize for the reception.

If your begining of March I would send them out no later then second week of Jan. if your later in the month then later in Jan. RSVP should aways at least be two weeks as I said before your count is due at the hall leaving time to call people.

This gives me two weeks before I have to give the final count to the RH.

(I had previously sent out STD's in September so guests already know about the wedding)
