March Flowers??

I'm just beginning to look for a florist, and want to know what kinds of flowers are available/looked good/weren't zillions of dollars to be imported from across the world.

Can anyone help me out? What did you/are you having in March for flowers? I'm looking for bo-k's and centerpieces. Thanks!!

Hello, I'm getting married one week after you!

My florist is able to get me peonies w/o the cost being inflated....I'm also using roses, hydrangeas, and ranuculus....they are all in season.

Of my experience with florists you don't really need to know what you want before you go. As you interview florists they will guide you as to want is in season, what colors you could go with, and what is most cost effective for you. Each florist I went to I got a new a better idea. Some florists literally sat down with me for over an hour, showing me all different floral schemes. Your best bet is to make appointments and actually speak with them.

I'm not getting married in March, but I do garden, and I can tell you some things that will be blooming (or should be blooming very soon and wouldn't require shipping from far, far away):

Daffodils
Forsythia
Hyacinth
Tulips (a bit early, but ask your florist about them)
Crocus

Roses might not be horribly priced, though they aren't blooming locally.

Good luck!
