when you go on the 19th, do you have to give them the headcount then?

Our RSVP date is 7 weeks before the wedding. Actually, its on my birthday, which happens to be your wedding day. Soooooooo, no, 8 weeks is fine.

Re: March girls or anyone really..help me!
Are you doing a tiered system of A guests, who if they say no, you will have B guests. If so, 8 weeks is great, otherwise, I think it is a really long time to put before the wedding. Caterers typically do not need to know final head counts til 2-3 weeks prior to the event and when you put a date that far in advance, people often will delay it because they are still far enough away not to be sure of their plans. This is all irrelevent if there is a reason to do early, like you are doing custom favors and need their names -- I just fear with 8 weeks, you are looking at having a whole lot of chasing down answer phone calls for those who will not respond to something that early.

well what is right then? is there pattern to this? My wedding is aug. 20. when should the invites go out, when should the rsvp date be? including the fact that there may be a 'B' list.

Re: March girls or anyone really..help me!
Send out the first batch with intent for early RSVP...second with later. That is the only reason I know of (again, other than custom favors) to do such an early RSVP...example, for my 9/10 wedding we will do something like 8/20 or so. Always good to put it for a 1st or 15th if possible -- pple tend to be doing bills then and return rates (really) are better.

I'm getting married the day after you and I chose Valentine's Day, because the timing worked and we thought it was cute!
