How about a weekend in Newport, Rhode Island. It's gorgeous there. You can take tours on mansions, the tennis hall of fame is there and there is a zoo 20 minutes away for the kids. You can take the ferry from Orient Point. It'll drop you off less than an hour from there. You can also go to Foxwoods or Mohegan... they have great spas there.
