I've seen a few brides on here who have used Maria or Nelson D'Leon for their wedding. Does anyone know the price range of their work. Some people have said it is expensive but I can't help but lovee the pictures i've seen and want to book a trial with them. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it! Thanks ladies....and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

For hair and makeup I was quoted $300 for a consultation ($250 for just hair consultation). $1200 the day of (consultation fee not deductible). $700 for hair alone on day of (consultation fee not deductible). With $200 travel fee.

I know, it pisses me off. Like when it goes over $1000 and up to $1700 including consultation & travel for one person it becomes ridiculous.

Re: Maria D'Leon
I think my friend paid about $900 for her but I believe she had extensions as well.
I used Nicole D'Angio and she was awesome. I highly recommend her.

Oh yeah, I was quoted extensions would be additional as would any hair pieces, veil or anything else. All told it would come to about 2G.

She was great but it just didn't pop out at me, i wasn't blown away by it. The extensions were really long i know they will be cut down but i kind of specified i didn't want the ringlet looking curl, like that piecy kind of curl and that is what I got. I almost felt like i didn't look like i had wedding hair more like i did my hair for a night out. She was fantastic I think I am just difficult. My make up was really nice yet again though I wanted more of the smokey browns and pinks and more of a natural look, i got the black smokey eyes and not the colors i was really looking for and I felt extremely done up and I don't wear a lot of make up. Also it was a little rushed feeling, the appointment was at 3 she was working on someone till 3:30 and then in the middle she had to do someone elses eyes that they booked and then they were closing up and she had one more appointment that they wanted to get in so it was like i couldn't sit and really play with it so i got frustrated. She was sweet and is an amazing artist I just am not sure it was for me.

dont be sad, there are alot of other great ones out there who you will love.
Unfortunately many city people charge this much and its the average price for them. Quite a few ppl my mom knows that do this for a living charge about $2k-3k for hair and make up on your wedding day. They charge this bc they can get it in the city. This guy i know who does this charges around $2500 for his services, his clients are mostly celebs and millionaires so for them its not a problem at all and they dont even think its expensive. Thats the problem with getting people in the city who work at salons, if they work for themselves it can be a little less though.
Ive seen great vendors on here and someone who can definitely give you the look you want

Thank you, i know I will find someone I guess i wanted it to work out because she comes so highly recommended by all the girls who have used her I was expecting the same for me. I am going to try to start this search again...My god I wish I was a celebrity and could afford to spend 2k on my hair! I don't know how anyone can! I'm jealous!

Re: Maria D'Leon
I had 4 other trials, NO ONE could get me the look I wanted except Maria D'Leon.
People say 'it's crazy' to spend that much on your hair, but I personally thought it was crazy to pay $135 per person on the catering - each bride needs to prioritize what THEY feel are the most important things to them for THEIR weddings. We all have a set dollar amount we can spend, but where we choose to put it is up to us. My DH and I paid for our wedding ourselves.
It was really important to me to look back at my pictures and feel I looked beautiful. My DH said to me after the wedding 'I will NEVER get the image of you walking down the aisle out of my head, you looked absolutely amazing.' I didn't feel anyone else could have done that... that's just my opinion, and where I chose to spend money out of my budget.
I really think she is the best. I do not regret for one second using her. I felt SO RELIEVED when I booked her and knew my hair would be perfect. I did not stress over this vendor or decision. I cut back on other things so I could have her. Most of the other things you won’t remember or care about after the day is done, but you’ll look at those pictures for the rest of your life, and I wanted to look back on them and think I looked as perfect as I could. She was worth EVERY PENNY.
This was my trial with hair extensions:
This was my wedding day - I lightened my hair(with extensions):
This was from my 'day after shoot' that I also had Maria do my hair & makeup:
