i would go sooner just in case. Find out the times at your location. At my city hall they did it from 9am - 11am and 2pm - 4pm. You need your birth certificate and drivers license (or passport) and $40 cash. You can go up to 60 days before your wedding so i would go soon!

I'm not sure how long you need in advance!! I hope it's not too late!! I know the license is $40. And you need 2 forms of ID!! I am not sure if you need a ss card. I have to look through my papers I got from my church..I know when I read it we had everything!!!

Nope, if you go Thursday the 8th you're fine. You just have to wait 24 hours until you get married.

Nope, you don't need your social security card - just have an official copy of your birth certificate, and your license. Honestly, when my husband and I went they didn't even ask to see our birth certificates!

ETA - and it's a $35 money order - they will not accept any other form of payment!!

I would go ASAP...I just went on Wednesday (the 23rd) and mine hasn't arrived yet. If you live in Nassau County there is a Town of Hall located in Hempstead...Very easy to get to and the people were very helpful.

You need to bring two forms of ID (I would suggest a driver's liscence, birth certificate or passport)

Its a $35 money order if you get your license in any of the 5 boroughs.

In Long Island you need $40 and it can be in cash.

We got it!!!!! We went yesterday to Hempstead....so easy we were in and out in a 1/2 hr. You can pay cash $40 and you get the license right then and there. I feel so much better now that it's done. Thank you ladies for all your help.
