Yep, they did it! If there was any doubt Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's wedding was the real deal, they answer the question once and for all in this week's issue of PEOPLE, speaking for the first time about their surprise nuptials – and showing off exclusive photos from their April 30 ceremony.

'We really do feel we are soulmates,' Carey tells PEOPLE, following their sunset ceremony at the pop star's Bahamian estate. 'I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me.'

Cannon adds: 'She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside.'

I love Nick Cannon--something about his personality and how funny he is attracts me...don't know if they'll last though.. I hope they do!

I loved Mariah when she first came out but over the years she's just done some zany stuff, and it gets harder for me to defend her.

I feel like it could be possible for regular, everyday people to meet in 6 weeks and just know and get married and make it last, like one of the posters said her parents did.

But I feel so different about celebrities who do that - mainly because celebrities are always getting married and divorced so quickly. So that's why I think it's crazy for them!!!
