Marking off rooms?

Marking off rooms?

How exactly do you go about doing this? Just call the nearby hotels and tell them your wedding date, etc?

If your guests book less rooms that you marked off, is there a fee of some sort?

And any recommendations near Westbury Manor?!!

thanks! Sorry for the onslaught of questions.

just call the hotels that you are itersted in blocking off rooms at and they will help you out. there shouldnt be any fee for this and the rooms should be at a discounted price.

you get a discounted rate for your block as a group rate. The only catch is if their minimum # of rooms to qualify for the group rate arent booked the rate usually reverts to the original price.

For example we blocked 20 rooms at $145 if less than 10 of thes rooms are booked by our guests the price will rever t to $160 something a room which is the orignal rate.

oh also they should not charge you to create a block so if they ask for a credit card beware the might try to bill you for unbooked rooms!!!

Our block worked a little differently. We had to block a minimum of 10 rooms. The rooms were held at the discounted rate until 4 weeks before the wedding.

All reservations made within that time were given the discounted rate regardless of the number of rooms reserved.

After the deadline date any remaining rooms were released for general reservations, and the discounted rate was no longer gauranteed.

We did not have to gaurantee a certain number of rooms, and we did not have to pay if there were any unused rooms.
