Marquis diamond help?

Marquis diamond help?

i have a marquis (sp?) style diamond with 2 simple baguettes on the side.

we went looking for wedding rings to go with my ring and it was so tough!! The curved ones look dumb and straight rings w/ the round stones do too.

I'm not looking to spend a lot, and have only briefly considered having one 'made' at tri- county.

I went to zales where all our wedding rings/eng rings were purchased so far.

may try marinellis in eastport bc i like them :)

Any other ideas? What are any other marquis brides doing? Has anyone seen anything that might work?

also not looking to go crazy spending! lol

I am kind of in the same boat, I have a round stone but my setting juts out on the sides so no band will lay completely flat against it. Went to Tiffany to see matching bands and none of them fit either. So I spoke with some custom designers who said they can make something to fit it. But then I was actaully talked out of doing a custom style by a friend who is a diamond dealer who made a good point 1) your going to pay a lot more than what the ring is worth and 2) even if they design something to fit your ring it will constantly fall out of place. Some other options are diamond enhancers which fit around your ring and usaully have bands on both sides, or you can wear it on your other hand or do two bands, one below and one above your ring.
I just decided to do a small eternity band and just embrace the gap.

i may go with teh bands on both sides but i didnt see one that matched the stones

i dont think i can embrace the gap or do 2 hands!

Yeah I do not like the two hands idea either! And, I don't really love the gap either :( Stinks lol.

I'm having trouble to, mine is cushion cut, I just went with the eternity band which is absolutely gorgeous! There is a gap but I know I won't wear them together everyday.

You can have your setting re-made to fit a wedding band... my sister took all of her stones and they melted down the metal and created a brand new setting for her. just an option if you're willing to do it.

I love my ring, so this isnt something I would do personally, but I kind of love the idea especially if her FH was fine with it. Mine definitely would not be lol!

I HIGHLY recommend going to Levitt Jewelers in Massapequa Park. I had a marquise engagement ring and they were able to find me something that fit perfectly. Their prices are unbelievable and their work is top notch.

Btw, they used to be in Tri-County but moved out and opened their own store.

I have a halo around my center stones so nothing fits flat and I hate the ones that are cut out so I just went with a simple band and dealt with the gap.

I have a marquis e-ring and I'm using my grandmother's wedding band for my wedding band. Our jeweler was able to take the band and put a notch in it so that my e-ring fits in perfectly! My DH customed made my e-ring to match my grandmothers band so they look as if they were made at the exact time, but my grandmother's band is 60 years old!

Can you maybe get a band and notch it like my jeweler did for me??

Lol it's not a problem. We got our rings at harels in Brentwood, which had been my family jeweler forever. Jay, the owner is awesome and Cathy who works there is a doll. I got my dress from bridal reflections in massapequa, it's Lorie by Maggie soterro. I had a great experience at bridal reflections working with Jody.

Would you be willing to do an interlock instead of a separate band? They can be made to fit the marquis shape. It's an extension of the diamond shape and really can give a blingy look if you're into that.
