Marraige License - Pt 2

I have a question about the marraige license. I will be moving out of state to live with my fiance in January, but will be getting married in NY.

Where do we get our marraige license? I say here in New York, but my FH thinks we could get it in Florida(where we will be living)

Re: Marraige License - Pt 2

I think you should get the license in the state you are getting married in.

you are getting married in NY...you have to get the license in NY. You can go anywhere in NY state to get it also.

Good Luck

Re: Marraige License - Pt 2

You have to get your license from the state which will be marring you. DH and I both live in FL but we were married in NY and we got our license there.

Where in FL will you be moving? We're in Ft. Lauderdale.

Re: Marraige License - Pt 2

Just remember that in NY, the license needs to be at least 24 hours old - so you'll be cutting it close if you wait until the day before the wedding.
