Marriage

Marriage

So I just found out that a guy I had a thing with in college is married. And previously I found out that three other guys that I either dated or had things with are also married. All to the girls they started dating RIGHT after me.

It is weirding me out. I am only 25 and these guys are all only 25/26 (and they all got married by 24 - which is well below the national average). WTH. That seems weird. Like something about me pushes guys to get married, but not to me.

I think that they were all so desperately in love with you that they couldn't wait to get married to fill the void in their lives now that you are married. They all rebounded after missing the Suz-love.

It is either that or the new girls seemed SO great in comparison.

Not sure why but it irks me - one of em got married at 18. Clearly they should all be out there pinning after me.

'Had things' = sex, right?

If it's any consolation, the same thing happened with me - I was their last girlfriend and they all got married young.

Now they are getting divorced. And they look for me. Watch out, Suz!

I have nothing to add, but I like this discussion.

Re: Marriage

I always think of my ex's as unmarried and alone. I know they're not, but when I stopped going out with them, their own lives kind of ceased to exist for me.

One of them is married to the woman he cheated on me with. And they live 10 blocks from my sister. And my BIL was in the FD with him, and he asks about me. Still, 13 years later.

I guess I made an impression. I don't want to know anything about him. D*ck.

thank you. And that was my point. They should all be pinning after me and writing depressed love songs and poems about me. Is that SOOO much to ask?

to tell you the truth, I don't think that is a lot to ask at all.

Re: Marriage

The weirdest thing is, no one in my previous social circles ever got married.... All of my HS friends are still single and partying - we were all these little city kids, and I think many of them just never wanted to grow up and settle down.

And non of my exes, as far as I know, have gotten married. Remember I'm old, ladies - I'm 33, and I was the youngest in my graduating class, so most of my friends are between the ages of 34-40....

Weird.....

good point...isn't there a movie where they say all your exes should end up on another planet together or something like that? So you never have to see them again but they also cannot date/have a normal life that would in any way interfere with yours.

Re: Marriage

I have no clue what any of my exes are doing or have done...and I don't particularly care one bit.

I've even seen a few randomly from time to time...one guy actually left his DATE in the middle of the dance floor at a club to hang with me after seeing me there...

he was so cute too...but any guy that would do that to a girl is an obvious d1ck....even if it was 'For' me and not to me.

nope...once you're out...you're out...PEACE. sayonara....

my ex- had a baby with his GF after me - and all i kept thinking was 'BETTER HER THAN ME!!'

there are reasons they are your ex's - just always remember that! let them be someone elses problem.
