So at the church you sign the marriage certificate...then what happens...do I need to put someone in charge of taking it home or does the church hold it. What happens after the signatures?

Re: Marriage Certificate Question
You sign it at the rehearsal and after you're married, the person marrying you takes care of the rest! FINALLY something YOU don't have to worry about!

Re: Marriage Certificate Question
I signed it the day of my wedding (the rehearsal was with the Deacon and we didn't sign then) once the limo arrived the Monsignor came out and had me sign. You sign the license (so does FH, BM and MOH), then after the ceremony the church or officiant mails it back to the city or county and you get the certificate in the mail after that. Hopefully, yours will arrive promptly, like mine did.

I just know about at a church. The church usually takes care of it. If it's at a hall or something, you'd have to ask your minister, judge, etc. to make sure they take care of it.
ETA: If no rehearsal, you can sign it that day

Re: Marriage Certificate Question
before ceremony, you both sign with a witness, then the officant will take care of the rest... expected back in the mail a month or so after the wedding

Re: Marriage Certificate Question
We both signed at the marriage license office. At the RD our witnesses, BM and MOH signed and our minister mailed it off.
It was here when we got back from the Honeymoon.
