Marriage Lic Question..

When are you supossed to get the Marriage license, what do we bring and how many days before the wedding to you need to get it?

In the state of New York you can get it from 60 days to before to 2 days.

It must be done before 2 days or its not valid.

Depending on where you get it depens on what ID you need. I was told in Manhattan you only need a passport/DL. In other counties you MUST have a birth certificate.

You can get it ANYWHERE in the state.

Check the city hall in the town where you live in to get solid information.

you can def go get it now...in queens all we needed was id and credit card or a money order for 35 bucks

when we went to long isand we needed id,birthcertificate,with the seal on it and 40 in cash

Yep 2 months before. Not sure where you're located, but we went to Smithtown town hall during lunch and we were the only ones there, it was a quick process and they were nice. HTH!

To be accurate you need to get it at least 24 hrs in advance of your wedding and no more than 60 days and in the 5 broughs of NYC you only need to bring ID and you can pay by money order or credit card. Outside of NYC you have to have your birth certificate.

And in NYC you can do the application online which saves you time.

I just got mine today down by the Office of the City Clerk. We only needed our driver's licenses, and we told our soc sec #. We paid 35 on the credit card, and used the confirmation number from when we filled out the application online.

Easy sneezy!

We got ours at the town of brookhaven yesterday, I filled out the paper online, So when i went there i had it filled out already we need out birth certificate and our drivers license. We were in and out :)

What website do i goto to get the paperwork to fill out ahead of time for brookhaven!? Thanks!
