This may be a stupid question but I am not from Long Island, can I get my marriage license in Long Island or do I have to go to 1 of the 5 boroughs?

You either go to the town your marrying in or your hometown.

You can apply for a marriage liscense anywhere in NY state. If you do it on LI it has to be an actual 'town hall' not a village hall. For example I live in Floral Park. I can't go to our village hall bc they don't issue liscenses. They will only perform a ceremony. We will need to go to the Town of Hempstead hall.
