How far in advance can you obtain your marriage license? Also, do you need a birth certificate?

You need two forms of ID on picture id and the other can be your birth certificate.

You need two things : Proof of Age - Birth Certificate - Baptismal record - Naturalization record - Census record
and
Proof of Identity - Dirver's license - Passport - Employment picture ID - immigration record
I looked up this info this morning, found it in the Town of Oyster Bay web site.

It depends wher you get it, in the city you dont need a birth certificate

I went to the one in Hempstead and I used my passport and drivers license.

Some places require your birth certificate - I went to Hempstead also and they only asked for our license and passport - we had our Birth Certificates JUST IN CASE
