this is a quick , stupid question but you don't need anyone with you when you go to apply right? No 'witnesses'? or anything like that?

Re: marriage license?
Make sure you bring either a money order or cc... they wouldn't accept cash when we went. We went to the one on Queens Blvd in Kew Gardens and all we needed was our driver's licenses.

Re: marriage license?
Ditto the PPs.
Also, bring the two approved forms of ID (do a Google search on Nassau County or your nearest town if in Suffolk to get the list of approved IDs).
Also, if you or DH has been married before, bring proof of the dissolution of the marriage, be it divorce/annulment papers or proof of death.
You don't need witnesses. The witnesses are needed (plus the licensed officiant) to SIGN your license, usually on the day of your wedding.
