FH and I have not gone for our marriage license yet. I just started a job a couple months ago and have not accrued any time off. I'm taking off 10 days for the wedding/HM starting next Weds. Would it be too late if we went for the license on Weds morning, since we're both off?? Or is that cutting it too close since the wedding is on friday??
I think you need to get it at least 48 hours before you plan on using it. If i'm wrong I don't know where I got that # from but I think I'm right. You should be fine.
when i called them, they said that 24 hours is the limit. So you just can't go the day before the wedding, but 48 hours should be absolutely fine. give them a call though ahead of time just make sure.
We went first thing in the morning on a Thursday and we were out within 25 minutes. It was great. We went to the Hempstead location. You should be fine if you get it on Wed. I did it 2 days before my wedding as well. No problem at all.
Does anyone know if you have to go to a specific location? A coworker told me you have to go in the town you grew up ( which for me is in Jersey) but Im getting married in Long Island so i would think id need to get one in NY.
I grew up in Ozone Park Queens, but I went to Hempstead. Since I am getting married on Long Island. It doesnt matter where you go.
can i get mine in staten island even though our wedding is in long island? its still NY so it should be fine right?

DH and I went the Wednesday morning before our Friday wedding.. We were fine!
Some of the places have a late night. In Brookhaven they were open til 7 on Mondays. Maybe your local one also has a late night if you dont want to wait til Wednesday.

I think Massapequa has late hours -- I could be wrong.

loveee when people give misinformation... you get it in the state in which you are having the ceremony, and can be obtained anywhere in the state... where you are born/grew up makes no difference
