Not sure how this works...Both FH and I live in NJ but we are getting married on Long Island. Do we get our marriage license in NJ or NY?

You need a marriage license from the state you are getting married in. Also the person that is going to marry you, must be licensed to perform marriage ceremonies in NYS.
