Marriage License

What's the closest place to get one in Bayside or Little Neck? And, what do we have to bring? How long does it take? Thanks.

you can go to a town hall, etc but in NY City then you have to go to the courts. I guess closest to that would be either the Jamaica court house or the one on Queens Blvd in Kew Gardens. Bring original birth certificates, drivers license, SS card, passport - whatever you have! But I know the BC and SS card are most important.

wait a minute, i have to go to TWO places? i thought it was only one place! can't i go in nassau county somewhere? i'm confused.

If you are getting married in NY state you can go to ANY town hall or court. But since you said Bayside, which is technically in NY city - there are no town halls that I know of in NYC - only court!!

My DH and I got married in Queens and got our license at East Hampton Town Hall. It doesn't matter where!

yes just one.

i was only there for 15 minutes, but this was out east. I'm not sure about where you are going, but probably not that long.

go to hempstead, you are in & out in 10 min.
City ones I hear take LONG!

Very true.. about Hempstead I got mine there just last friday.

I was literally in and out in about 10 total minutes.

I have no passport.
I took my Driver License & my birth certificate.
Although I took my SS Card, they didnt want to see it. They just asked for the number.
Oh and bring $40

FH took Driver's License & Green Card.

They filled out a form, asked a few general questions, mother's father's names... place of birth and that was it. It took us a little longer maybe cause we had a couple in front of us.

Really fast, really unromantic!
