Marriage License Advice!!!

Thanks for the advice! Can we still get our marriage license in NYC if we are getting married in LI? Fh and I both live and work in NYC, so it would be MUCH easier for us to go in NYC. Plus, I have NO clue where my birth certificate is, and my mom was like, 'uhhh, I dunno, I'll have to look.' when I asked her about it. Gee, thanks mom!!

I'm from westchester and he's from LI...we're getting married in westchester and we got it in NYC since we both work here. So yes, you can get it in NYC. You can actually get it anywhere within New York State. I totally know what you mean we stressed so much over getting our birthcertificates and we didnt even need them!! The website is so unclear.

So FH and I got our license this past friday in NYC and because I was clueless about what to bring I figured I would let everyone know how it went. First off, the form you can fill out online you can also fill out at the office and it takes 5 mins on their computer. After that you get a number and wait in line to be called. We had a long wait but it wasn't so bad. All we needed to show for ID was our Drivers License. I think it's different for LI and Westchester but for NYC all you need to show is your license ( this is after we drove both our parents crazy to get our birth certificates our of the vault). It was a very easy process, all in all.

could you believe some of the outfits there????? some girls thought bikini tops and skirts so short there ****s were hanging out were appropriate!!

i work in that building, sometimes it's fun to see all the happy couples

That's too funny!! Yeah it was pretty outrageous. I was sitting with FH on the bench a little past the photo area (that little mural thing on the wall that the new brides all take pics in front of). It was def an experience.

So we dont need to show our birth certificates in order to get a marriage license? I dont know why I keep thinking we need that....
