Marriage license AFTER the ceremony

So we had the blank license from the clerks office, filled it out and signed it when we got married, and i got a copy of that. Apparently the church sends the original one into the state. Do we then get an official one? No one has really explained how that works lol. I know i need a copy of our license in order to start changing my name, but will my copy from church work or do we get an official certificate license or something? TIA!

Marriage license AFTER the ceremony

I got my official certificate the week after the wedding, my officiant was quick in mailing it into the town (it goes to the local town where you got the license, not the state). You have to wait until you get the certificate to change your name.
