you dont need blood tests anymore. You have to do it at least 48 hours before I think.

Re: Marriage License & Blood Tests??????????

You apply for your marriage license...60 days before the wedding or sooner. No blood test anymore. You can go to the town hall in your town. You only need a current driver's license.

Re: Marriage License & Blood Tests??????????

You can get it 60 days before the wedding or up to 48 hours before the wedding. It is good for 60 days. You can go to a local town hall and it costs, for us atleast, $40. You don't need any blood tests. You have to get it in person, you anf FH together and you need your driver's liscense and birth certificate.

Re: Marriage License & Blood Tests??????????

You do have to get it done in NY... Be careful if you are getting it done only 48 hours before your wedding, though... if there are any errors on the license, you cannot get married.

Re: Marriage License & Blood Tests??????????

the one thing I didn't realize is that every town has their own requirements.
None require a blood test BUT they all have different requirements otherwise.

Fi did not have his birth certificate when we needed to get the license. It was at his mom's house and the country he is from does not have a postal system so his mom couldn't get it to us.

We would have had to spend $200 to Fed Ex it and then found out that we could just go to Brooklyn (we live in manhattan) and they'd give us the license. As long as it is an office in NY and that's where the ceremony will be - there's no problem. Islip woud not help us but NYC offices had no problem.

Call the specific office and ask but you will need ID and that's probably it (I used a drivers license, FI used a passport)
