Marriage License Help

Hi ladies,

FH and I were planning on getting our license at Islip Town Hall but now FH can't find his original birth certificate (only has a copy). Are there any locations where you absolutely don't need the birth certificate? Can we get away with just a copy?

Thanks!

We live in Manhattan, and got our license here, and they didn't even ask for our birth certificates. We showed them our licenses and that was it!

The hospital where he was born shoul be able to give him one with a seal. That should be fine.

is it just a boring old copy - like made on a xerox - or is it the real deal copy? the real deal copies have a raised seal on them as well...

i have heard of some places in the city not requiring birth certificates....

Thanks but he also doesn't have the original of his baptismal cert. Would they take the one we had to get for the church?
