I live in Virginia and getting married in Long Island, so who do I contact about a marriage license? How soon before the wedding should I have it?

Marriage license (I`m clueless)...

If you go to the Wedding Services there is a section labeled Marriage license (it's up at the top) and it tell you what you will need to do.

Marriage license (I`m clueless)...

Since you're getting married in New York, I would assume you have to get your license here. You just go to the town hall in the town you're getting married in (Town of Oyster Bay or Town of Hempstead or wherever) and bring your money order and your photo ID. Contact the town hall in the town you're getting married in to find out all the details! The license is only good for 40 days, so you can't get it 41 days before your wedding. You also can't get it 24 or 48 (I can't remember) hours before it either! Good luck!

Marriage license (I`m clueless)...

I thought it was good for 60 days from the date of issue. Has that changed? You have to have the license at least 24 hours before you get married so don't wait til the last minute. All town halls on Long Island issue marriage licenses although some require money order and some take cash. You should definately call first so you go prepared.
