We just got our passports 2 weeks ago. Will this suffice as enough identification? Or do we need to bring more?

You don't need a birth certificate if you do it in the 5 boroughs - I think Long Island has different rules including need for birth certificate + additional ID.
We just brought our passports and it was sufficient (this was in Queens).

2 forms of ID
One being a passport of NYS ID
other being your birth certificate

we had to get out birth certificate send from El Salvador n traslate it...

We just got our license. We went in Queens. All they asked from us was our driver's license or Passport. We brought our birth certificate but they didn't ask for it.
