Marriage License in NYC Q

FH & I are going to get our marriage license in the city one day on lunch... For those that went in the city- did you go to 1 Centre St- rm. 265? Did you bring $35 (money order)- or just regular check (I read conflicting things). How long did it take? Last, did you need a witness?

from what ive seen most of them want a money order. I say get the money order just in case to be safe. We got in front and then after were told money orders only so had to go across the street to get one and come back. Not a big deal at all lol but just to make it a little bit easier

Thanks! Dumb question but where do you get a $$ order? The post office?

i read money order also - you can get one at the post office.

i think i'm going to the one in kew gardens, so not sure about the centre street one

no we got it from a deli across the street. ALot of deli's you can get it from and usually if theres one right by a court they most likely will have it there. You'll probably see it on the awning
