marriage license on LI

marriage license on LI

Has anybody gotten their marriage license yet somewhere on long island? Was there a long wait? my fh wants me to take off work to go get it tomorrow but i am wondering if it can wait until that christmas week.....what do you guys think?

both of you need to go in person to town hall. you get the license the same day. it just needs to be done no more than 60 days before the ceremony.

we went to city hall in long beach. there was no wait, one other couple was there being helped by another clerk. it took about 1/2 hour total.

you could probably wait until xmas week if you wanted to ... as long as there are no previous marriages or anything like that to add complications you should be fine, imho.

just make sure you go like 2 days before the wedding minimum!

We went to Babylon Town Hall this past Monday and we were in and out in 15 minutes!! We did have off of work, but could have done it on our lunchbreak.

thats kinda what i was thinking it would be....its just that i would really have to take the day cause i work in the city....part of me wants to get it over with, but i don't like taking off work.
