I live in queens and am getting married in LI can I go to a town hall in LI to get my marriage license? I hear the lines are much less than in NYC. Thanks

You can go to any of the places in NY that will give you a marriage license no matter what county you live in. As long as you are a NY resident, that's all they look at.
We live in Queens and got our license at Hempstead Town Hall because it's literally across the street from my office.
Just beware - the web site says that it's only $25 outside NYC to get your license, but it was actually $40. Make sure you bring enough money!
