OK so I have a few questions- first is since I live in Queens can I go to Nassau to get my marriage license or must it be in the city?
I went to a restaurant today in Manhasset and noticed a sign that says I can get a marriage license over there(im assuming it was the town hall ) - I was wondering how the lines and how busy it is at Manhasset-
Does anyone have any info on this stuff?
I feel like such a dummy but ive got NOOO clue about it!
THANK YOU LADIES!

Re: Marriage License Question
Are any open on Saturday that you know of? We have the documents, but I hate having to take time off work to go do it!

Re: Marriage License Question
nope, none are open on Saturdays.
Actually I did a search on here for 'town clerk' and came up with a few things- turns out Town of Babylon & Hempstead have a couple late nights, but don't do marriage licenses that late.
I didn't go into full research, but I think the one in Islip might be able to do it late, or even Huntington.

How convenient. Thanks, though. I'll do a little research, but if Huntington or Islip doesn't have late hours (I live in the Town of Babylon), I guess I'll go into work late or go home early one day this week to get it done. Or next week, my FH is off Monday and Tuesday that week.

Re: Marriage License Question
OK, Islip does have extended hours on Tuesdays, from 8:30 am to 7:45 pm. I'll call them on Monday and make sure they do marriage licenses during the extended hours. If so, we'll do it Tuesday and get it out of the way. One fewer thing on the list!

Re: Marriage License Question
my friend told me that some places in upstate (cortland maybe) are open on sat because he got his license on sat. we got ours last wed at 1 centre street in NYC -- took us 20 min surprisingly! i think the trick was showing up at 8:45 am -- the place was empty! you can get your license anywhere in NYS, but i think in NYC you dont need birth certificate (only driver's license) and it is 35$ instead of 40$ -- i have no clue why.
