marriage license question

Does anyone know if we can get a marriage license on a weekend? My FH and I live in CT and work all week. Can we do it on a Sat? We are getting married in Westbury

Thanks!

I think the town clerk is only open on the weekdays. All the information can be found online. Here is the link to the Town of Hempstead....

Re: marriage license question

I found this on the Town of Hempstead site.

The marriage section of the Hempstead Town Clerk's office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Applicants should arrive prior to 4:15 p.m.

Both applicants must appear in person. Two forms of ID are required (one must be valid photo ID). Marriage license applicants whose previous marriage(s) ended in divorce, annulment or death of spouse, must provide proof of dissolution of all previous marriage(s) by presenting a certified copy of Divorce or Annulment or certified copy of Death Certificate for each previous marriage.

I think all town halls are the same

Re: marriage license question

If this helps you are getting a New York State License- so you can get it anywhere in New York State- maybe you can go right over the border which will be closer to you than LI. I would go when it first opens- you probably would beat the line and get back to work and only lose an hour or so.

Only during the week. If you go early then you both can make it to work for a half day.
