I know Fh and I have to go down to the town hall to do the license..but here is my question..if we are getting married in Babylon, can we go to any town hall to have it done? Or does it have to be in that town??

A marriage license is a State issued license. That means you can get your license in any town hall in the entire state of new york. If you wanted to drive up to Buffalo and get it there you can.

i think i only had my license, but every office might be different. I know I didn't bring anything extra. You should call and ask, or check the website.

I brought my birth certificate and drivers license to the Hempstead town hall. Definitely call ahead and make sure you have what you need -- what a waste it would be otherwise! Also Hempstead opens at 8 AM so depending on where you work, you could potentially go before work. HTH!

no she's right. i think we paid $35; and some say money order or cash only, but ours took CC. so just call and check.
