i didn't do the online application, so i'm no help there.

as for town halls, i think hempstead has a late night, but i couldn't find online what night it is, i would just call and ask.

town of oyster bay is open late on tuesdays, twice a month, it's on their website.

town of hempstead opens at 8am, that seems to be the earliest i found.

i really wish they were open later in the day.

Re: marriage license question

We did it online for the city (got our license in Brooklyn) and we got there when they opened the next morning and the whole thing took almost no time at all because we'd done it in advance. The best thing was that because I did it online and wanted a space not a hyphen between my married names, I was able to keep it that way. I heard on LI some places make you put in the hyphen, but not in Brooklyn.

I think you have to fill it out at least the night before you go so it'll be in the system when you get there. They give you a confirmation # and you can print it out and give it to them to show them it to speed up the process.
