1- How come it says on the internet that a marriage license is only valid for 60dys?
2- What do you need in order to get the license?

Re: Marriage license questions..
You have to actually get married within that 60-day window, meaning you can't get your license now if you are getting married in Sapt.

Re: Marriage license questions..
You will be asked to show identification {ie. Drivers License, Birth Certificate, Non-Drivers Photo ID etc.}
It is not valid under 24 hours within being issued. So, if you go right now to get it you have to wait to get married until AT LEAST tomorrow night at 7:45pm for it to be valid... When both applicants are 16 years of age or older, the 24 hour waiting period may be waived by an order of a justice of the Supreme Court or a judge of the County Court of the county in which either the bride or groom resides.
A marriage license is valid for 60 days, beginning the day after it is issued. Once you actually get married though it then validates the certificate. It just expires if you get it but don't get married within sixty days.
It costs $40 and in the town of Smithtown (where we got ours) no blood tests were required.

I know you're in NYC so the rules are different. It's $35 by money order only and you only need to show a drivers license to get it.

This is exactly right. We got ours a week ago and we just showed our drivers license, but we also brought our passports just in case.

Re: Marriage license questions..
my priest told us that yes, it's only valid for 60 days, so we should go once we hit the 60 day mark.
