Can anyone please share where they got their marriage license that didn't require a birth certificate?? I wasn't born here, so getting a copy is pretty much out of the question
Queens or Nassau would work for us

I think all places require a birth certificate or naturalization/citizenship record. Did you look on line? I went to the one in Manhasset and it stated what you could bring.

I hate to break it to you, but you need some form of identification that can establish proof of age and identity AND a photo id. Here's what establishes proof of age/identity:
1.Birth Certificate 2.Baptismal record 3.Naturalization record 4.Census record
And here's photo id: 1.Driver's license 2.Passport 3.Employment picture ID 4.Immigration record
We had to bring our birth certificates and driver's licenses and the clerk stared my birth certiciate down. I was born in a very small hospital so the only info on my birth certificate is my name, my birthday and the deliverin doctor...THAT'S IT! No parents names (which apparently are needed)...no weight, no height...nothing like that!
Good luck! Hopefully you have one of the other three that you can use!
ETA: This is a requirement from the state of NY...not just in Queens/Nassau...sorry :(

im pretty sure you dont need your birth certificate if you get your license in the city

SS card is not accepted in NY as a form of identification. You need your SS number to fill out the form but you will need one of the following:
1.Birth Certificate 2.Baptismal record 3.Naturalization record 4.Census record
And along with some sort of photo id: 1.Driver's license 2.Passport 3.Employment picture ID 4.Immigration record

I used my baptismal certificate and my license since I couldn't find my birth certificate. We got our license in Huntington

I would, just to be on the safe side, call whatever office you plan on going to so that you definitely have the right paperwork. The info that I posted earlier was straight off of the NYS website...maybe some clerks are more flexible then others...
