Was anyone actually married by the state with FH before the actuall wedding ceremony and reception? we booked our wedding for May 8th 2009 but we were thinking about making it legal may of 2008 but not really telling anyone, and then just get married by the church and celebrate with the reception in may of 2009.... does the idea sound stupid ?? and is it at all possible??

Is it because you guys just cant wait anymore?? My vote is to hold out if thats the case.
I was married a year before i had my reception (divorced now for 2 years) and honestly i wish we would have waited. It didnt ruin the day for me the following year but there was definitely something missing..... well, nevermind that my marriage eventually ended....but thats another story completely..
I have since found a new man and he rocks my world... its like night and day.. i cant believe i married that other chump.

Lots of girls on here are married already for many different reasons. I don't see anything wrong with it if you feel its necessary.

THat's why i asked what the reason was... I could see if you really needed the health insurance or whatever... then there's a legit reason for doing it.
But if she's just anxious... i still say hold out.
