I'm getting married at our hall, but I have no idea what to do after we finished our vows. Do people still throw petals, blow bubbles, etc? If so, where/how is this done? While we are coming down the aisle?
I'll ask my hall, but thought you ladies would know better. I'm not sure what I should do.
Thanks,
Suz

Re: Married at hall, what to do?
This is so weird. I was going to post this EXACT thing last night...
I think i'm good with people doing nothing....after all - once the ceremony is over - they move across the hall to the cocktail hour...

Re: Married at hall, what to do?
You really have to check with your RH, we're having our ceremony at our RH and they won't let us throw anything inside. So unless by some miracle it's 75 and sunny in the middle of March in which case we'll marry outside on the grounds, we can't throw anything.

I agree with another poster--if you are doing an indoor ceremony.....chances are your hall won't let you throw anything for fear of liability in case someone slips and falls on the way out.
we did an indoor ceremony and we didn't need anyone throwing stuff at us--they just applauded and headed upstairs straight into the CH

Great and thanks to all the ladies for anwering me. One less thing that I don't need to worry about. If I don't have to buy/make something else that's good.

We did petal cones even though we got married at the hall. I would ask them if they allow it.

Re: Married at hall, what to do?
We had an outdoor ceremony at the RH, but I wasn't sure what their rules were about throwing things. So my mom and I made ribbon wands with bells on the end, and then I put a note in the program at the end of the ceremony, so after we were pronounced husband & wife everyone started to ring the bells while we walked back up the aisle!!

i honestly didn't even think about this until just a few days ago. i just figured since we're not getting married in the church, no one would throw things at us. it never occurred to me that people could if the hall let us, but why worry about it now? it's one less thing to do!

Re: Married at hall, what to do?
I'm getting married in a hall. However, I know that so many people will be late, so we're having a 1.5 hour cocktail reception first, then the 30 min. ceremony, then the sit-down reception and dancing. They let us throw flower petals because they're easy to clean up. Also, they let us have sparklers go off when we'll be announced as husband and wife.

my thoughts exactly.. i got married outside.. the guests went straight to CH so there wasnt time to really be prepared for the toss.. we didnt do a receiving line either...

nothing - we are just going to the bridal suite for 15 mins then to the cocktail hour.
I just found it silly to throw stuff if its not a church but if you really want it and its out doors then ask the hall. If its inside I think it would be a bit much to throw anything.

my niece was my FG---and she had a basket with petals--she just tossed some on the aisle runner coming down...she didn't throw too many so i guess it wasn't a big deal.

What about those streamer things... it's a bunch of streaming ribbons attached to a stick and the crowd shakes them... it looked like cute idea - it's something...

Re: Married at hall, what to do?
I got married at the Watermill. We had the ceremony outside. We gave out silver bells to each person and as we walked down the isle after our ceremony our guests rang the bells.
