For those that are getting married at the venue, are you doing a receiving line? Will you be doing bubbles, petals, or wedding wands? I would like to do one of these but not sure how it all works out.

Re: Married at venue
I would prefer to do the petals but you have to find out if your venue allows it cause it alot to clean lol but most do. and if they dont bubbles. it diff and cute. Havent decided about recieving line either. I know some brides go to their cocktail hour greet everyone so they dont do a recieving line. i guess do what works for you

Re: Married at venue
Im not doing it. The guests will get a champagne greeting into the cocktail hour which starts immediately after ceremony. There wont be enough time!

Re: Married at venue
I am only to make sure I say hi to all of my guests. My ceremony time is 1/2hr slot. I only want a 10-15 min ceremony so I plan on using the rest of the ceremony time to say to everyone as they go into the cocktail hour.

Re: Married at venue
I wanted to do one to greet our guests but it will take up too much time during our precious cocktail hour!!! It's really important to me that FH and I get 15 minutes alone immediately following the ceremony AND that we get to enjoy the CH as well...so I had to give up something...receiving line it is...

Re: Married at venue
Most venues where you have your ceremony suggest skipping the receiving line. Your guests will be going directly from the ceremony to cocktail hour, there isn't a gap in between. Receiving lines usually take about half an hour depending on your guest count, so all of that time would be lost from your cocktail hour!

Re: Married at venue
We had petal cones for after the ceremony. And we did not do a receiving line since CH started right after. We took pics during CH so walked around and visited tables. I had sparklers for the evening...but we didn't even use them

Where did you get your sparklers? I'm getting married on the 4th.

We are actually allowed to do the safe for birds rice. Well, that is if we are outdoors. I guess I should get bubbles just in case for inside, but I am hoping we can be outside. only reason we couldn't would be weather

I didn't even think of this yet... I guess bubbles are good for indoors and out!

Re: Married at venue
We're doing an outside ceremony (weather permitting), petals lining the aisle, and bubbles after the ceremony. We're not doing a receiving line.
