Married Girls: Can you post a pic of your DH in his tux?

Original post by TrueLoveIn2008

I am pretty sure I am on the way to changing my FH's mind about wearing a bowtie. I want him to wear a vest and regular tie. We might compromise on the vest and bowtie thing.

Can you girls whose husbands wore vests post pics of them from your wedding? I want to be able to notebook this page and show him all the pics so we can hopefully come to a decision.

TIA!

My FH owns his tux because he was the best man in his friend's wedding in 2006 and neither of them knew that you had to rent a tux at least a few weeks before a wedding

So he wants to wear what he has - 'why buy / rent anything else???' I have seen him in the tux as is and he looks nice, but not as nice as these men do in their vests and ties. I have a pic somewhere, I will try to find it and post it.

why doesn't he just buy a vest and tie then? my dad did this; he bought his tux for my sisters' weddings (almost 10 years ago - he was so happy it still fit) but i very gently told him that cummerbunds were not so fashionable so he went out and got a vest and tie. I think he may have gotten it at syms.

He just doesn't see why he needs anything other than what he has. The wedding he was in in 2006 is the first and only wedding he's ever been in (until ours!). The groom only had a best man (like we are doing) and his wife at the time lived in sweden. They went alone for the tuxes, never asked for a woman's help. So they had no idea that for weddings, most men wear the vest and tie thing, and have been for like 8 years. All they see is the tuxes people wear to the awards shows on tv and figured, I am assuming, that is what they needed.

But I think I am getting him to understand. I just like the vest/tie look so much better. He needs a vest in my opinion, even if he wants the bowtie.

If I can convince him, we may rent or buy - not sure which. Depends on how much the two wind up totaling.

Here's a link to my album where I have uploaded a pic of us from the wedding in 2006. He looks nice, but I think it just looks like it's missing something. (His hair is done in a buzz cut now which I think also makes him look MUCH hotter.)

My FH wants to wear a bowtie. I just want him to be happy and he hasn't made very many decisions lol.
