Married Girls: Please Give DJ Recommendations

Married Girls: Please Give DJ Recommendations

Please keep this in mind:

I don't like club music or most top 40s songs. I like old music (johnny cash, elvis, old italian singers) as well as nine inch nails, depeche mode, ramones, newer indie/dance music like the ting tings, grunge (the pixies, the pumpkins) etc.

I'm looking for a dj who will take my music taste into account, but I'm willing to be flexible. I realize the dj will probably only play a few of my favorite bands, as It's most important to me that guests are up and dancing, so I KNOW I have to be flexible and not micromanage the playlist. However, I don't want justin timberlake or bon jovi played. Also it's extremely important to me that the dj doesn't mess up our dance song, since we've spent months practicing dancing.

Considering what I'm looking for, who would people recommend? Thanks married ladies! :)

Scott at Purple Penguin Entertainment!!

He is amazing. He has lots of experience, works with exactly what you want and has literally every song you can think of! He was great.

He also made sure that people who don't usually dance were up there all night long.

We're using Fusion DL and discussed nothing bu 80's music and 90s. I can't stand most of todays music and well, heavy metal does not belong at a wedding, so I have to be flexible too. lol

but try them and talk to Manni. he'll help you out.

Music by Michael. DH and I have a more ecelectic and unique taste in music and were worried too. With Michael you submit your must play, play if possible and do not play list electronically. He followed everything we asked for to the letter. I highly recommend him.

I have to recommend Diamond Cut DJ's. They were awesome. He listened to what I want and will get any song you want. He played everything we wanted but also made suggestions on how to keep everyone happy. The MC also was not in anyone's face, that's the one thing I hate. People still are complimenting us on the DJ.

Ditto!!! They did my wedding, and DH and I not only keep away from Top 40; we needed a good blend of classic rock, new wave/80's, country and Bollywood...they were FANTASTIC. And Frank (he was our DJ and MC) had people on the dance floor at one in the afternoon...not by being all cheeseball like some DJs, just by playing GOOD, danceable music.

I chose Bravo Sound as my DJ. Mike is really personable and knows A LOT about music. Yes, I am doing some Top 40, BUT i also gave him a list of some really cool rock music (The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, etc) and HE suggested doing some 50s music and I was all over it - Stuff like Dion and the Belmonts (not just Runaround Sue), Bobby Darin, plus others.

I say you should at least give him a call. Seriously, every time I talk to Mike, I get more and more excited about my wedding!
